Ann Wennerbom
Ann Wennerbom is a Registered Nurse with more than 20 years experience working in areas ranging from general nursing to aged care nursing. Her background is in Public and Private Hospitals in both the UK and Australia.
 
William W Torrez
William W Torrez is the Chief Executive Officer. He is a Corporate Public Accountant with extensive experience in company accounting, taxation and business management.
 
Ruth Labra
Ruth Labra is a Registered Nurse who has worked in low and high care facilities for more than 10 years.

Elizabeth Petrie is the Office Manager with over fifteen years experience in office administration as well as being a qualified Enrolled Nurse.

Ann Wennerbom is the Principal of our training organisation as well one of our trainers. Ann trains the theoretical components of our courses (classroom) as well as being our on site practical skills assessor.
 
 
Margarita Khatewoda
Margarita Khatewoda is the Head of Studies for Community Services. She has extensive experience as a Registered Nurse in both New Zealand and Australia.  Margarita has worked in many fields of nursing including aged care and rehabilitation.
 
 
Nora Molina
Nora Molina is a Nurse Educator with several years experience working as a Registered Nurse and in Management positions in the Aged Care sector. Nora's structured approach to theoretical and practical training is based on her training and assessment background.
 
All of our trainers have Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training and are members of the NSW Nurses Association.
 

 
THE REGISTERED TRAINING ORGANISATION
 
We are registered to deliver training, conduct assessment and issue qualifications for the CHC08 Training Package:
  • Certificate III in Aged Care
  •  
 Fee for service:
  • Students participate in a minimum 10-12 week course consisting of both theory and practical components
  • Successful completion of the Senior First Aid course is a mandatory component and is incorporated through the course duration.
  • All students must have a current Australian Federal Police clearance prior to course enrollment.
Traineeships:
 
Traineeships enable health care organizations to obtain the desired qualification for dedicated nursing staff with minimal interruption to the client, patient or other staff.  Traineeships also provide financial incentives to employers who participate in the scheme:
  • A government subsidy per trainee (subject to approval)
  • Reduced Payroll Tax Liability
Our aim is to develop and provide tailored, flexible, workplace-based learning and development strategies. Our trainers combine their teaching qualifications with industry experience to ensure all students achieve learning outcomes.
 

 
THE NURSING AGENCY
We provide staff to various facilities throughout Sydney including nursing homes, hostels, retirement villages and private & public hospitals. It is our policy not only to maintain our reputation of allocating quality staff to all of our clients, but also to continually strive to increase the level of care provided through in-house training.  Nurses Around the Clock employs approximately 200 + casual nursing staff ranging from Registered Nurses, Assistant Nurses as well as domestic staff.

OUR STAFF
We do our best to ensure we employ a high standard of nursing staff. We follow a strict set of guidelines when selecting staff to work for our agency.  Firstly, all interested applicants are required to provide us with a current CV outlining their background, employment history and referees.
 
If they satisfy the above criteria a face to face interview will then be conducted to assess the applicant's character, appearance, strengths & weaknesses and work ethics.  All applicants must bring the following to their interview:
  • Current driver's license / passport
  • Current registration (if applicable)
  • Australian Federal Police clearance
  • 2 passport sized photos
  • Bank account, Tax File number and Superannuation details
Original documentation is sighted and photocopies of relevant documentation are filed in the staff member's records.
Three successful work references are mandatory for all applicants before employment is offered.

 
INSURANCE
All of our staff are fully insured in compliance with State and Federal Government regulations. Certificates of Insurance Currency will be provided upon request.
 
RECORD KEEPING, ACCOUNTING AND STAFF BOOKINGS
Our computer systems comprise of the latest Accounting Software and Microsoft Office Products that allow us to keep accurate records of staff availability, client bookings and staff allocation.  The accuracy of bookings/record systems is maintained with staff timesheets. Each staff member is issued a timesheet book consisting of triplicate pages for client, agency and employee. These are to be completed and signed by the client and employee upon completion of each shift.
 
INDIVIDUAL POLICIES AND PROTOCOLS
We ask all our staff to introduce themselves to the person in-charge of their shift.  We advise our staff to become familiar with the relevant duties manual, emergency procedures, fire exits and occupational health and safety procedures prior to the commencement of the shift.  Our nurses are expected to follow universal precautions and use correct manual handling techniques at each facility.
 
REQUESTING AND CANCELLING SHIFTS
Staff Requests:
We aim to fill all staff requests for both on the spot bookings or advanced bookings. When providing staff we will endeavor to provide you with regular staff and therefore give your residents continuity of care however this is not always possible upon short notice.
 
Direct Requests or Amended Bookings:
If a nurse on duty is requested to do a future shift or their shift time has been changed, please advise us immediately so we can ensure your request is carried out.
 
Staff Cancellation:
When cancelling a booking we know it is not always possible but we request as much notice as possible so that we can reallocate the staff member elsewhere.
  • Notice of 4 hours or more prior to shift commencement will result in no penalty.
  • Notice of less than 4 hours will result in a cancellation fee equivalent to the first 4 hours of the booking.
  • If a staff member is cancelled on arrival the above cancellation fee of 4 hours will also apply.
STAFF STANDARD CHECKS AND COMPLAINTS
We do random checks on our staff while they are on duty to ensure they are working well and to your standards. We want you to be happy with the care your residents are receiving.  We welcome feedback from our clients regarding our agency and staff, this information is then recorded for future reference and is included in our management meetings as part of our continuing improvement process.  If you are not satisfied with the performance or behaviour of one of our staff please contact us by phone or in writing so that we can take immediate remedial action.
 
NO SHOW AND POOR STANDARD REPORTS
We pride ourselves in providing our clients with reliable staff. “No Shows” are not tolerated. If legitimate explanation is not given the staff member will not be re-employed. If this happens please notify us immediately and we will do our utmost to replace that staff member.

We expect our staff to be well groomed and professional, with their ID badge in view at all times. In the event of a staff member attending a shift untidy in appearance, please feel free to bring this to their attention and/or notify our agency.
 

 
REGISTRATION
All registered nurses are advised to carry their registration with them at all times so they can be sighted for verification upon request.  We sight original registrations at the initial interview. We repeat this process annually for our records.
 
CONDITIONS FOR EMPLOYING NAC STAFF
In the event of your facility employing a member of our staff during or within 6 months of their employment ending with NAC, the following conditions apply:
  1. The interviewing and subsequent employment of an NAC staff member will constitute an acceptance by the client to pay a release fee. This will be due to the loss of potential revenue, as well as the associated costs involved in interviews, criminal and reference checks, assessment and recruitment of replacement staff.
  2. The client agrees to notify NAC immediately an employee is offered and accepts employment.
  3. A tax invoice will be issued, followed by the letter of release upon payment. This in turn will nullify any legal claims that may arise in the future.
  4. If the employment of the NAC staff member is terminated for whatever reason no refund will be made to the client.
