| The agency is a member of the Nursing Agencies Association of Australia. We are also members of the Chatswood Chamber of Commerce. In addition to the Managing Directors we currently employ approximately 200 casual nursing staff ranging from Registered Nurses, Assistants in Nursing as well as domestic staff. Each of the nurses has successfully completed the required qualifications and/or experience in that role. To ensure an efficient and professional standard at all times we monitor our phones 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. WELCOME TO NAC It is our intention to provide you with a personalized and quality service. A nursing agency you can rely upon. Nurses Around The Clock is available to help make your life easier. POLICIES AND AIMS As a busy agency we supply staff to nursing homes and retirement villages on Sydney's North Shore and surrounding areas. It is our policy not only to maintain our reputation of allocating quality staff to all of our clients, but also to continually strive to increase the level of service offered. It is our policy to continually work at self-improvement so we can constantly give our clients the best possible service. We welcome feedback from our clients regarding our agency and staff, this information is then recorded for future reference. REGISTERED TRAINING ORGANISATION Nurses Around The Clock is a Registered Training Organisation under the Australian Quality Training Framework and is registered to deliver training, conduct assessment and issue qualifications. THE STAFF We adhere to our code of ethics when interviewing staff and keep photocopies of the required documents in our files. Two successful phone references are a requirement for all applicants. All NAC registered and experienced nursing staff must satisfy the required standard of competency. CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS Criminal record checks are conducted on all successful applicants. These checks are repeated annually and carried out as thoroughly as the law will permit. STAFF STANDARD CHECKS We do random checks on our staff while they are on duty to ensure they are working well and to your standards. We want you to be happy with the care your residents are receiving. INDIVIDUAL POLICIES AND PROTOCOLS We ask all our staff to introduce themselves to the person in-charge of their shift. We advise them to become familiar with the duties manual at the start of the shift. Our nurses are expected to familiarize themselves with emergency procedures, fire exits and policies on manual handling and universal precautions. All our nurses are instructed to follow the occupational health and safety guidelines for each facility. REQUESTING AND CANCELLING SHIFTS We know that it is not always possible, but it is desirable if you could give us advanced notice when requesting staff. By doing this we may be able to send you the same staff and therefore give your residents continuity of care. If you cancel a shift with reasonable notice (i.e. 4 hours and over) we will inform the staff member and you will not be charged a cancellation fee.
Notice of 4 hours or less will result in you being invoiced for 4 hours. The reason for this is that it is extremely difficult to find an alternate shift for the nurse at such short notice. If a nurse is cancelled on arrival and we were not notified beforehand, you may also be invoiced for 4 hours. DIRECT REQUESTS If a nurse on duty is requested to do a future shift, please advise us immediately so we can ensure your request is carried out. NO SHOW AND POOR STANDARD REPORTS We pride ourselves with providing our clients with reliable staff. “No Shows” are not tolerated. If legitimate explanation is not given the staff member will not be re-employed. If this happens please notify us immediately and we will do our utmost to replace that staff member. The same applies to a staff member who receives 3 bad standard checks or complaints. RECORD KEEPING ACCOUNTING AND STAFF BOOKINGS Our computer systems comprise of the latest Accounting Software and Microsoft Office Products that allow us to keep accurate records of staff availability, client bookings and staff allocation. The accuracy of bookings/record systems is maintained with staff timesheets. Each staff member is issued a timesheet book consisting of triplicate pages for client, agency and employee. These are to be completed and signed by the client and employee upon completion of each shift. UNIFORMS Female
